Aftercare
Keep it clean. Let it heal.
Follow the dressing instructions Casey gives you on the day. When in doubt, keep the tattoo clean and dry and ask before adding products.
Get medical help for serious or worsening symptoms.Difficulty breathing, collapse, severe swelling or rapidly worsening symptoms need urgent medical care. Increasing redness, pain or swelling—or symptoms that are not improving—should be medically assessed rather than waiting for a message reply.
If you have Second Skin
Leave the initial dressing on for 24 hours. Remove it in a warm—not hot—shower, then gently wash with fragrance-free sensitive soap using light circular motions. Pat dry with clean paper towel or another clean towel, not a normal bath towel.
Casey provides a second piece. Reapply it after the first 24 hours and leave it on for about 48 hours, or a little longer if it stays comfortable and intact. If redness develops around the dressing, remove it, clean the tattoo and switch to open healing.
If you have cling wrap
Remove the wrap as soon as practical after getting home. Wash in a warm—not hot—shower with fragrance-free sensitive soap and gentle circular motions, then pat dry with clean paper towel or another clean towel.
Open healing
Keep the tattoo clean and dry. After a few days, if it feels overly dry, cracked or tight, use a tiny amount of basic fragrance-free moisturiser—only enough to soften the skin. Pat away any excess so the tattoo is not wet or sticky.
While it heals
- Avoid swimming, baths and soaking until fully healed.
- Avoid direct sun while healing; use sunscreen once healed.
- Avoid picking or scratching at peeling skin and scabs.
- Avoid tight or dirty clothing, contamination and excessive irritation.
- Avoid exercise for the first 24 hours, then excessive rubbing, stretching or sweating.
Itching, scabbing and peeling are normal parts of healing. Do not pick or scratch. Let peeling skin and scabs come away naturally through clothing, bedding and normal gentle washing.
Once it has settled
Use sunscreen once the tattoo is healed. If a touch-up may be needed, take a clear healed photo at around one month and send an enquiry for Casey to assess it.
Free touch-ups may be available when you contact Flowstyletattoo within three months, except for hands, fingers, feet and toes. Casey assesses each tattoo and whether the policy applies.
Ready when you are
Unsure about healing?
For a non-urgent question, send Casey clear details and a photo. Worsening medical concerns should go to a health professional.
